All good things must end. My vacation is over and I’m back in Business Casual.
As I settle back into my cozy rut, I find myself short on words — so today’s post will be light on text.
A light silk dress is perfect for summer. This one, from Marni, is all about the print: an irresistible graphic dot-and-bar in neutral colors, which reminds me of Charles and Ray Eames or Knoll Textiles more generally.
Candidly, I am not sure what color the dots and bars are. Sometimes I think the dots are brown and sometimes I think they are green. I thought the bars (or dashes or cigars) were black, but in some light I think they are dark brown.
I like the ambiguity, which is enhanced by the fatigue green utility jacket.
Does it match? Beats me. But it certainly goes.
How does should one respond to ambiguity? With patent leather, bien sur.
Patent leather is definite, even emphatic.
This dress has an easy fit; pleats on the front conceal bizarre, shallow pockets. Note that the pockets are placed as though they were a muff. Why? This is a summer dress!
Dress: Marni from YOOX (the product description says it runs large, but it doesn’t; I am wearing a 4); Jacket: JCrew; Shoes: Taryn Rose; Bag: Car Shoe: Watch: Michele CSX
I like the dress & your haircut! Welcome home!…..Wendy
Love your exasperated looks in the pocket photos!
I second the motion.
Lovely dress. Lovely orange kitty.
I love Mr. Orange and that adorable cat face! Your dress is very appealing, too!
